O’Raghallaigh’s are set to host a trip down memory lane with special guest Michael O Muircheartaigh.

The dinner dance and gala fundraising event, which takes place in the Westcourt Hotel on Saturday November 26, will mark the club’s successes throughout their 54-year history.

The North Road-based club will celebrate all their major titles including their emphatic double-winning season of 2011 in which they claimed both the Louth Intermediate League and Championship crowns.

The club will also remember their Louth Junior Championship wins in 1963, 1991 and 2001.

Their only Senior success in 1965 will also be celebrated along with the 1975 Old Gaels Cup title.

O’Raghallaigh’s welcome along all team members from those successes along with all GAA supporters to come and reminisce about their own glory years.

“After the great year we’ve had, it’s great to have a night like this to celebrate the current success and the past ones,” said manager Colin Kelly who was recently appointed Louth Under-21 boss.

“The players from all teams deserve to be recognised for their achievements and it’s great to have a night like this.

“All the players put in a great effort this year and we got what we deserved out of it. This will draw a line under this year as we look ahead to Senior football in 2012.”

Broadcasting legend O Muircheartaigh also adds to the evening as the special guest and will no doubt provide an entertaining insight into the sport.

The former RTE commentator spent over 60 years covering GAA before he hung up the microphone in 2010.

Having seen the sport change dramatically over those years, come across some of the legends and best characters in the game and having a genuine infatuation with GAA, O Muircheartaigh will definitely have the audience enthralled.

LMFM’s Gerry Kelly will be MC to keep events running smoothly for what should be an excellent night’s entertainment which kicks-off at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at €50 and are available from the O’Raghallaighs’ clubhouse on 041-9837132 or from Floorstyle, Patrick St on 041-9835556.
