The GAA have invested a lot in Juvenile sports over the last number of years and they have focused on the improvement of coaching skills and safety for all involved. We recommend that you take a few moments to check their website at www.gaa.ie or http://www.gamesdevelopment.gaa.ie/page/go_games.html, where you will find all the detail in relation to the Go Games and coaching for under age football. All routines are designed to be fun and appropriate to the child’s developmental and skill level. We are also further developing our Club / School link programme of coaching support within the Parish schools and details of this can be viewed on Ogsport Lu portal site of the Louth GAA website.
2012: Naomh Mairtin’s Juvenile Club Nursery Programme. The necessity to have a club nursery has come about by the phenomenal growth of the club’s current requirement to cater for Under 7’s in the greater Monasterboice area. This year the club have welcomed over 40 children age 4 to 6 years of age to join our Nursery. We see the Nursery as an essential component of the Juvenile structure, thus appropriate resources & procedures have now been developed to support the best possible Nursery complimented by the Fun Do programme. Our Nursery specific mentors (currently five in total) have all been Garda vetted and at minimum have completed their Code of Ethics and Foundation level courses will be present.
